Noticing a change in Koi & Goldfish appetite seasonal or something else?

I've seen my koi and goldfish acting a bit lazy when I feed them. They're eating, sure, but not with the usual excitement.

Is this just a seasonal thing, or should I worry? Anyone else seeing the same behavior?

Also, I'm thinking of switching up their food. Got any recommendations for fish food that's good but not too expensive?

Any advice is welcome!

It sounds seasonal, mine slow down too when temps drop, I switch to wheat germ-based food in cooler months. Hikari and Tetra make good options that won't break the bank.

As the weather gets cooler, fish metabolism tends to slow down, which is typical during the fall and winter months. If the water temperature is above 50°F, it can be helpful to soak the pellets before you feed them. Brands like Hikari and Omega One provide great quality food at a reasonable price.
